I really enjoyed this guide! The book provides you with all you need to know about how to navigate the island like a local in order to truly get the most out a visit to St. Croix. I would recommend it to anyone visiting to St. Croix, even if just stopping in on a quick cruise. With that said, it provides enough content and is well suited for someone staying a week or longer or even relocating there! The quick tips format of the book is a great way to know where to go and a snapshot of what to expect. However, this book wins the prize as the easiest to use to pick out the things you would like to do and her reviews were spot on. This helps guide you through some spots that not so many tourists visit and that allow you to enjoy the culture of the island. What a wonderfully delightful book! Not only is it written like a pro, but it is not just a book. It’s a script. Sophie Foreman has infused her own personality into every section, and even though everything is grammatically correct, it has a casual, friendly manner to it that is so necessary to make the reader feel that the author is speaking directly to them.
London is my absolutely favourite city. When I went there, I felt as though I was finally back home. I knew instinctively where everything was. I visited many of the places she mentioned, but most of them were new to me. She has written a very comprehensive account of everything a tourist would want to see and experience in the city.

I have visited New Orleans, and recognized many of the places she mentioned, but there were also many that I had not seen. Now I want to go back to New Orleans to see them!

Moni is a very skillful writer, with a very fluid style, presenting everything in a friendly, casual manner. She draws the reader in with creative tip headings and many personal accounts of what to look for during their trip. She shows great enthusiasm for all the different places in LA, and presents them in entertaining ways. I live in LA, and I must say, she left nothing out – not even Disneyland, which is, as she says, a must for anyone to visit, even if it is out in Anaheim! This is a well-thought-out guide to all the great spots in LA, and provides the reader with so much more than what a regular travel guide has to offer.

This book of 50 tips for visiting Isla Holbox in Quintana Roo, Mexico is a little gem. I have visited the island 12 times since 2005 and have found that Ivan Cadiz is an excellent guide for all things about the island. Over the years, he has provided us with excellent advice about things to do (and not do) there. Therefore I am pleased to see that he has written this book that will give ideas to others who are visiting. Cadiz’s enthusiasm for his adopted home comes through clearly and that enthusiasm makes the book both informative and fun to read. He offers ideas for places to eat, things to do, and places to see that you wouldn’t find in more traditional travel guides. He also gives advice about how to help respect and protect the island, something very important as more and more people discover it every year. I highly recommend the book. -Lucile B.
